C.A. Thompson

Senior Pastor

Pastor Thompson is the Senior Pastor of City of Joy Baptist Church, located in Camp Springs, MD. He is a caring under-shepherd who lovingly takes care of his flock.  Pastor Thompson is passionate about the Word of God and has committed himself to a mission of helping people reach their ultimate spiritual potential by teaching them the principles of God’s Word.

Through the Holy Spirit, Pastor Thompson preaches the unadulterated Word of God. He is known as a God chaser, who only wants to be where God is at all times. Like David, Pastor Thompson is “a man after God’s own heart," who serves with humility.  

Pastor Thompson has been married for 24 years to his wife Susie, who is his best friend and the most influential person in his life. They have been blessed with one daughter whom they call Princess, who has grown into a young spiritual warrior for God.

One of Pastor Thompson’s favorite Scriptures is Isaiah 61:1–“The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me; because the Lord hath anointed me to preach good tiding unto the meek; He hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound.” Pastor Thompson gives his all to the Glory of God.
